Adult Courses ... 9:30 am
1. Hymns for the Head and Heart: Everyone who joined Becky for this study last term loved it. She goes over the hymns for that Sunday, talking about how they were written, what they say, and helping people get comfortable singing them. Then she helps you see why Pastor Chuck chose them to fit with the sermon! Singing is such a wonderful part of the worship service: if you want to be truly blessed in this, join Becky in the Sanctuary for this course.
2. Rambling thru Romans: Here we study the book of Romans 2 chapters at a time. If you've ever read thru Romans before, you know how much Paul packs into each chapter, so 2 at a time will be plenty! Here's how the study works:
a. Read the two chapters and look up any complicated words you find.
b. Write down one thing you learned to share with the class. (We'll go around the room and discuss each person's contribution.)
c. Write down one question you had about these chapters. (We'll go around a second time to suggest answers.)
This is great way to get into one of the most profound books of the Bible. Come join Pastor Chuck in the Fellowship Hall.
3. The Savoy Confession: This Confession is at the heart of our Congregational / Reformed theology. This is a more "advanced" class: it picks up where the Christian Basics class left off. Each member will get a copy of the Confession and meet with Paul Kunik in the library to talk about key portions of it.
